In a medium sized pot, bring chicken broth and water to boil.
Stir in grits, garlic powder, and Slap Ya Mama seasoning.
Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once thickened, remove from heat. Add in butter and 1 1/2 Cups of the cheese, stir until melted. Top grits with remaining 1/4 C cheese before serving.
