Ingredients

  • 2 Lb ground chuck
  • 1 Cup finely diced onions
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4-5 Tbsp Canola or Vegetable oil
  • 1/3-1/2 Cup All purpose flour

Onion Gravy:

  • 1 Large Sweet Yellow Onion, sliced then halved
  • 2 Cans Beef Broth
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1/4 tsp Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
  • 3/4 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, diced onion, egg, Slap Ya Mama, seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder, mix well.
  • Shape ground chuck mixture into evenly shaped patties (makes approx 6-7 depending on how big you make your patties). Coat the patties evenly on both sides with the flour. Fry in oil in skillet until browned on both sides, remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Add the onions to the skillet (may need to add a little more oil). Cook until soft, stirring occasionally. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together beef broth, water, flour, seasoned salt, Slap Ya Mama, pepper, worcestershire sauce, Kitchen Bouquet. Pour this into the skillet with the onions, stirring until it begins to thicken.
  • Add patties back into skillet, immersing well in the gravy mixture. Cover, and reduce heat to simmer, about 20 more minutes. You may want to move the patties around in the gravy a few times to prevent sticking.
